We love to serve charcuterie boards for holidays, because they’re easy to make ahead, and then set out and watch them disappear quickly! Everyone loves to make their own little bites.

Ingredients for a mini charcuterie
Think ahead to these ingredients for a fall cheese board:
- Assorted crackers
- Mini Brie round
- Herbed goat cheese log
- Neal’s Yard Colston Bassett Stilton Cheese
- Roth Cheese Prairie Sunset Cheese
- Point Reyes TomaTruffle Cheese
- Sharp cheddar cheese
- Kalamata olives
- Salt and pepper pistachios
- Dates + dried apricot
- Moon drop grapes (or regular grapes)
- Bunch sage to garnish
- Mini pumpkins (to garnish)
How do you assemble the board?
Assemble the board by placing the largest items down first (cheeses, bowls, large clumps of fruit, crackers, and pumpkins), then fill in the remaining spaces with smaller ingredients and herbs.
The Perfect Fall Charcuterie Board
Peak entertaining season is here, with Thanksgiving and Christmas upon us. For years we’ve been putting together amazing charcuterie boards for holidays and special occasions. But guess what? They don’t all have to be epic. In steps our 20-inch board. I love the size, and it’s perfect for a smaller gathering.
What is charcuterie?
Charcuterie is a French word for cured meats. Add cheese and you can call it a cheese board or a charcuterie board.
Make sure your serving platter is food safe
Whenever you’re making a charcuterie board, you’ll want to make sure you have a board with a raised edge (so the food stays on) and also a surface that is food safe. If it’s not, you can use parchment paper, but then you lose the beautiful look of the board.
Tips and substitutions:
- Customize your board: Use your fall favorites to customize this grazing board to make your best charcuterie board.
- We personally do not make the board ahead more than a few hours. Foods can get soggy, and you want any fruit or veggies to be nice and crisp. Also, do not set the crackers out until right before serving, again, to stay nice and fresh.
- It’s hard to estimate exactly how many people you can feed with a cheese board. The board I used (pictured here) is 20-inch, and I think it has about 8-10 appetizer servings on it.
- Keep in mind that if everything won’t fit on the board at once (you have more than 8-10 guests), then you can refill it as things are eaten up.
- What I love is that you can always scale this charcuterie board down for a fun dinner during the fall season. Make it for 2-4 and serve the ingredients on a plate!

- 10 oz assorted crackers
- 3 oz salami
- 3 oz prosciutto
- 1 mini Brie round
- 3 oz herbed goat cheese log
- 1 wedge Neal's Yard Colston Bassett Stilton Cheese
- 1 wedge Roth Cheese Prairie Sunset Cheese
- 1 wedge Point Reyes TomaTruffle Cheese
- 1 small block sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 c kalamata olives
- 1 c salt and pepper pistachios
- ½ heaping cup dates
- ½ c dried apricot
- 3 oz moon drop grapes
- 4-6 figs, halved
- 1 bunch sage to garnish
- 3 mini pumpkins to garnish
