Tip & substitutions:

  • Our crust recipe only has six ingredients, but if you need a quicker crust, you can buy one package of ready-made sugar cookie dough (sugar cookie dough) rolled out to fit a pizza pan.
  • Mix up the fruit per season: Use an assortment of fresh fruit, such as bananas, peaches, blueberries, kiwi, pineapple, and strawberries.
  • Slice the fruit, and pat with paper towels to absorb any moisture, before laying down.
  • Use a rectangle or pizza pan. Make your own pattern with the fruit, in straight rows or circular.
  • Stick with one fruit, or mix up the fruit. For Fourth of July, make it red, white, and blue.
  • Assemble the dessert as close as possible to serving time, to prevent sogginess. When the fruit sits on the cookie crust, there isn’t much you can do about it eventually getting a little soggy.

How do you quickly soften cream cheese?

  1. Take an 8-ounce block of cream cheese and place it unwrapped on a microwave-safe plate, and microwave it on high for 15 seconds.
  2. Add 10 seconds for each additional 8 ounces of cheese, or as needed, until you have softened the cream cheese.
